30/55 'The Life of a Clown' (2003)
Day 30! Ah, the life of a clown. I wrote this song with the help of some little kids at Broadleigh Elementary School in Columbus, Ohio. I was volunteering to help with some after school kids at this school. The day I met them, they didn't want to know my name, they just wanted to know if I knew a clown song. I said, 'Unfortunately, I do not, but why don't we write one'. So I got one word from each child in the room and told them that when I came back the following week, that I would have their song. I went home and worked all week on it. On my return, all they wanted to know was if I had their song. I said, 'Yes, I do!' I played it for them and they loved it. We played it 2 more times with so much singing and laughter. Bless all those inner city kids for having so much fun with me.
